I am reminded that God said He put a “light” into every man who has come into the world (John 1:9). It is that gift we either accept or reject. This “life”, this “light”, that is in each one of us is sort of like the starter mix for making sourdough bread. That starter has to be there to get the end product.
We have that “starter” in us and just need to add the ingredients of faith, hope and love…and those ingredients are found only in Jesus. He, too, is a gift, but it’s not a gift if it’s forced on you; you have to accept it. So, don’t wait until you’re in a foxhole facing imminent death or with a life altering crisis standing before you before you have “a little talk with Jesus”! Get serious with that little stirring inside you. God created the earth and all that is in it. And He put a little piece of Himself in all He made, so we would be surrounded with a world that cries out about His existence.
In Romans 1:19-20, “Because that which is known about God is evident within them…since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and Divine nature have been clearly seen…through what has been made.” That verse ends with saying, “They are without excuse”.
So don’t paint God what you may think He is or isn’t…give Him the brush and He’ll paint the picture! Endure the fire…it’s producing pure gold!
