Is the answer just blowing in the wind? Or is the answer in who makes the wind blow? Man has such a high opinion of himself to think that he can change the world’s climates by his own hand. “Yes, we can!” is the decree the self-absorbed would have you buy into! So, let me get this straight. If we had been able to stop all the dinosaurs from driving SUVs the world would have survived the global warming or cooling “climate change” that made them extinct? We might want to consider who is in control. “Professing themselves to be wise they became fools.” (Romans 1:22 NKJ) Let’s take a look at who is really in control – the Creator of it all. We know God is in control, not man. May I suggest you go to the Bible to learn more from the Word of God. You will see what awesome power He is! (Listen to entire sermon below. Originally recorded January 19, 2014) (Scripture References: Psalm 78:1-4; Psalm 77:11-20; Romans 1:22; Ecclesiastes 1:4-7, 9-11; Proverbs 1:7, 20-32) If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? Through His creation of dogs and other animals who find a kinship with mankind, the Lord gave us some wonderful examples of how we should live. There is a direct lesson in love, loyalty and patience found in these beautiful creatures that we can learn and follow. Open your heart to God’s love and be a willing student. Like Christ, we should have a servant’s attitude born out of love. But, as humans, we are often weak. Rather than trust our God-given instincts and directions, we often go against them and selfishly serve only ourselves. Let the Master teach you the ways you can glorify and honor Him. Trust, honor, love and obey our Master Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:13, “for it is God who works in you to will and act according to his good purpose.” [Be sure to view the video below that was referenced in Pastor Ted's message.] If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10) Through God’s unmerited grace, not as the result of any effort, ability, intelligent choice, or act of service on our part, we become Christians. Out of gratitude for this free gift, we will seek to help and serve others with kindness, love and gentleness, and not merely to please ourselves. We are each under construction by our God who creates masterpieces, and are a work in progress. Christ is day by day chiseling and building us. He is removing the unwanted and harmful things in our lives and rebuilding the internal workings of our heart and mind. Just like the roads we travel each day, the construction goes on and the traffic cones are deployed. We must steer around them just as we need to steer around the things that are still obstacles in us so we don’t fall into pot holes or drive where the road is no longer there. Man left earth to set foot on a separate heavenly body (the moon) in the summer of 1969. But the greatest leap of all mankind – past, present, future, and for all eternity – actually occurred over 2,000 years ago. In the small town of Bethlehem, Jesus was born. God incarnate stepped down from the heavens. “‘The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ – which means, ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:23) “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) This is what God did for this world because He loves us so much. Today, man needs to take a leap of faith on his journey to salvation and seek out the Face of God through Jesus Christ.
