We have all had our share of poor and foolish decisions and choices in the past. All have miserably failed and sinned in the sight of God. However, Isaiah speaks of a glorious freedom and emancipation from our sins through the redemption in the blood of Jesus Christ. He says, “'Come now, and let us reason together,'” says the Lord, 'though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool. If you consent and obey, you will eat the best of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.'” Paul also said that he pressed on to lay hold of Christ, forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. Be encouraged to press onward in your daily redemption in Jesus, and don’t let the sins of the past (which could be only one minute ago) rob you of the love, joy, peace and salvation Jesus has given you this day! Peter asked the Lord how many times he should forgive someone who sinned against him. The Jewish law of that era required forgiveness for three times, so Peter thought he was being generous when he asked if it should be seven. And what did Jesus say…seventy times seven! That doesn’t mean to keep track, folks. That was just an example of hyperbole, meaning it was an exaggerated amount to get the point across. In doing the math, that would be 490 times…but that is for each offense. So, if offended ten times in a day, that’s 4,900 times to forgive someone in one day! You get the point. Jesus was saying to always forgive. And He qualified it saying to forgive others as you have been forgiven by Him. The deal is this: confess, repent, and return the favor to others. There are four stages in this forgiveness business, and we will cover them today. We’ve covered this subject many times before and it’s certainly worthy of a repeat performance. 1 Corinthians 13 gives a listing of some of the aspects of “love”, as God sees it. We not only need to review that list, but also realize that this “love” thing God is talking about is active–it is a doing based on a choice made. Can you honestly say that you choose to let God’s kind of love flow through you when you run into a lying dog of a drug addict, an annoying relative who will take all you have and never return the favor, or a co-worker who sabotages your work to assure their advancement and not yours? It seems that our kind of love just runs out when we run into these situations. Well, God’s love does not abandon these people and neither should we. He loved YOU when you weren't too lovable! Temper His love with His wisdom and you will joyfully be able to serve and tend to those who have sinned against you and yours. If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? Click here and let us show you how you can KNOW JESUS. Do you really know what Jesus has done for you? Have you thought recently on the importance of being “saved” and your punishment for your sins—GONE, ERASED, ADJUDICATED by the shed blood and death of Jesus? I hope your hearts will be touched greatly as we share today and you will be blessed with a renewal of the knowledge of the power and importance of the gift God gave us with His Son Jesus. Knowing that you were saved from hell and damnation by a God who loved you even when you didn’t love Him! Read over John 3:1-21 and think on what Jesus has done…not just as INFORMATION but as something that can deepen your love relationship with Him. His love for us is proven…is yours? As you look at some of these names/titles of Jesus, may your picture of Him and understanding of what He has done for you be ever so sweet --

When we observe the obvious disorder, confusion and chaos in our world today, we are witnessing the outcome of disobedience and rebellion against the only true and living God. God is not the author of this confusion, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33) He also has not given us, His people, a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) David was certainly out of order and felt the sting of sin and ensuing heartbreak of disobedience when he committed adultery with Bathsheba. His actions were disgraceful and wrong, yet the Bible tells us that David was a man after God’s heart. And he cried out to a forgiving and compassionate God to set things in order in his life. David asked God for help and said, “Order my steps in thy word, and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” (Psalm 119:133) Order here means to be established, be steadfast, be firm, be prepared and to set in place. David was not alone in his striving against sin for we have ALL sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Like David, each one of us must ask our heavenly Father through Jesus to, “Order my steps, order my thoughts, order my words, so that I may glorify You in all that I do and say.” If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? The Rest of the Story-Jesus Does the Miracles You Do the Repenting (by Pastor Linda Pugsley)11/17/2011 Jesus healed birth defects and diseases, cast out demons, fed many with just a little, and walked on water--He did it all. But there is a bit more to the story than meets the eye when He did His healing miracles. Read in Mark 2:1-13 about the paralytic man lowered through the roof so Jesus could heal him. Now, most of us would have said that it was easier for the man to have his sins forgiven rather than the work of a miracle--but not in God’s world! They had faith for Him to do a miracle because they had seen or heard of it being done before. But did they have faith regarding the forgiveness of their sins? That is the bigger issue with God. The miracle of forgiveness is there for us all, but you have to receive it. Remember, Jesus said He was at the door knocking. He asks that you let Him in so He may come and dine with you! Once healed of your sins, you can truly “pick up your pallet” and walk the walk in Jesus. Audio: (Click forward button below to play audio of message and/or download mp3 file.)

Never has a soul who has gone astray from God’s commands benefited from his disobedience and rebellion. In fact, “all of us like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way…” (Isaiah 53:6). Going astray means to wander, to deceive oneself, to stagger around like a drunk man, caused to err, and to be seduced. History tells us that God’s own people, Israel, often wandered from His commands and staggered into despair and calamity. Moses admonished the Hebrews in advance and declared to them that there would be a blessing for obedience and a curse for disobedience. If they returned and obeyed, then God would restore, revive and reunite them to Himself granting them favor, blessings and benefits. However, if they chose to disobey, they would perish. Read it in Deuteronomy 30. Today, all mankind has the opportunity to be forgiven, restored, revived and reunited to God through Jesus Christ, resulting in eternal life. Have you made your choice? Remember, choice determines destiny. Disobey and perish! Or, obey and live! When God's people return and obey, then God will -- 1. Restore them from captivity (Psalm 23:3) 2. Have compassion on them (Psalm 78:37-39) 3. Gather them to Him (Psalm 50:5; Psalm 106:43-46) 4. Give them possession of the Promised Land (Genesis 22:15-18) 5. Prosper them and multiply them (Psalm 1:1-6) • Prosper: to be at ease, have peace, give rest, raise hopes, be happy, safe • 3 John 2-4 Prosper: to get along with, to have a way opened, get along well, have a prosperous journey 6. Circumcise their heart and the heart of their descendants, to love the Lord God with all their hearts and with all their soul, in order that they may live. (Galatians 6:15, 16) 7. Prosper them abundantly in the work of their hands 8. Prosper their offspring 9. Prosper the offspring of their cattle 10. Prosper the product of their ground 11. God will rejoice over you for good (Matthew 18:11-14); Lost sheep (Joel 2:21-27) Audio: (Click forward button below to play audio of sermon and/or download mp3 file.)

(See 2 Kings 21 and 2 Chronicles 33) Manasseh was the 14th king of Judah, the son of Hezekiah. He reigned for 55 years and had the dubious legacy of being Judah’s most wicked king. He was aggressive in the restoration of idolatry and idolatrous practices which his godly father, Hezekiah, had destroyed. He practiced divination, witchcraft, and he worshiped the sun, moon and the stars. Those who resisted his rule were killed. He even sacrificed his son (perhaps sons) to Molech, an Ammonite god. Some believe that he gave the command to have Isaiah sawn in two. In light of these acts, it would be likely to believe that Manasseh’s enemies would welcome his demise and death. However, Manasseh humbled himself greatly and entreated (plead earnestly) the Lord while distressed in Babylonian captivity. God was moved by his entreaty and restored him to his kingdom in Jerusalem. Here we have a powerful example of God’s great mercy, compassion and grace to forgive and save the most vile and wicked. Look in the mirror for another example of God’s grace and mercy: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Audio: (Click forward button below to play audio of sermon and/or download mp3 file.)
Additional Audio: Personal testimony from the heart of Pastor Mark Parsons. It appears that those who are quick to forgive others realize that they themselves have been forgiven much by our gracious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (See Luke 7:36-50.) Paul speaks of forbearance and forgiveness in Colossians 3:12-14, “So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” The KJV uses the expression, “forbearing with one another,” meaning to “put up with, endure, and suffer.” However, we are not to forbear with contempt or disgust but with a heart of compassion being quick to forgive. God was certainly patient with Israel and put up with them for forty years in the wilderness journey (see Acts 13:18). The whole time He was exhibiting His godly and holy forbearance with a disobedient and rebellious nation. Ask Jesus to enable you to be more forbearing and forgiving, and strive to practice these virtues daily. Audio: (Click forward button below to play audio of sermon and/or download mp3 file.)
For some time now, I have witnessed some people who call themselves Christians who have not been willing to forgive those who have committed offenses against them, "at least not for now." Whether these offenses are real or imagined, all followers of Jesus Christ must rid themselves of any root of bitterness and unforgiveness so anchored in the soul, and cry out to Jesus who cleanses, forgives and frees us from the domain of darkness into His marvelous light. (See Hebrews 12:15.) Jesus said, "For if you forgive men for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, then your Father will not forgive you your transgressions." (Matthew 6:14-15) Peter questioned Jesus about forgiveness and said to Him, "...'Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.'" (Matthew 18:21-22) Question: Do you have anything against anyone for any reason? Remember, to be forgiven you must forgive! Audio: (Click forward button below to play audio of sermon and/or download mp3 file.)
