We continue our series by looking at four more “truths” to live by…ah, yes, the real answers to life’s questions. We have to know and live the truth as God portrays, not as we see it; we have to practice righteousness and purity; we have to be generous and we have to make sure to walk it and not just talk it. There are some questions you should ask yourself too…get really honest with you and God on this. How much time do you spend on the Scripture and the pursuit of understanding them? What are your guidelines for righteousness and purity? Do you avoid situations that could lead to sin? Do you tithe or just throw a dollar or two in the plate? You do know that a “tithe” means 10% of your income (salary, social security, disability, oil royalties). Don’t be shy on this one…you really will reap what you sow! And lastly, in regards to walking it and not just talking it, are you one of those people who spout off scripture at every turn and yet don’t apply it to yourself? There’s an old saying, “Preach the gospel every day…and some days use words!” Live it, love it, learn it…c’mon, you can do that! [Scripture Reference: 1 John Chapters 1-5] If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? © www.123rf.com I remember years ago when President John Kennedy said, “Ask not what your country can do for you; but ask what you can do for your country”. I think God is crying out the same thing to us today; not only for our blessed and glorious country, but for Him and for each other. Whether you are paid or a volunteer, you are an important part to the full function of God’s work on earth. Let Jesus come inside you and let Him pull you together as an integral part of His body—holy, sanctified and for His good use. (Colossians 1:27). Let’s make sure it’s not “gimme, gimme, gimme; but rather all for God's glory, glory, glory! Join with us today as we review the workings of the body of Christ. Remember, when you need God most, He often sends His love in the form of one of His people; a “part” of the body of Christ! For your ease in listening and downloading, this week's message will be divided into two parts.
