Knowing the truth is knowing what is said in the Bible to be true. The knowledge of the scriptures affects our attitude toward the present and the future. The more we know about what God has done in years past, the greater the confidence we have about what He will do in the days ahead. We should read our Bible diligently to increase our trust that God's will is best for us. "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope." (Romans 15:4 NIV) The Bible is the living book of God's words that reveals to us not only the past but the truth of all that is happening around us now and what is to come in the future. Through the Holy Spirit, we are able to discern who the adversary is and his agenda. God's truth is the light that shows us the enemy's devious works, and by that Light they are destroyed. © www.sharefaith.com The gospels tell us of the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. All four of those gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) are a bit different in their accounts of the life and works of Jesus. Perhaps that is because any one of the gospels alone would not do justice to Jesus’ life and ministry. But, together, we have a much more complete picture of who Jesus is and what He did while here on earth. In looking over the gospels, one cannot help but realizing the uniqueness of Jesus. But I hope you don’t consider Him faraway and unaware of the human condition. He was just as much human as divine! Let us enjoy this uniqueness of Jesus and a life in Him. Listen in on the sermon as we review this humanity and divinity…and what it means for us.
Ever since the fall of Adam through disobedience, God has been reaching out to a rebellious world time and time again. Hebrews 1:1-3 says, “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature and upholds all things by the word of His power…” When Jesus approached Jerusalem for His last Passover feast, He saw the city and wept over it. He wept because His people rejected and did not recognize His visitation and message of eternal life and peace. Because of their hardness of heart, Jesus prophesied that Jerusalem would be leveled and the people destroyed. Almost 40 years later, the Romans fulfilled this prophesy. See Luke 19:41-44. And, in these last days, Jesus continues to knock on the doors of men’s hearts. His visits are convicting, convincing, revealing and piercing into the depths of each man’s soul. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice & opens the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me.” Rev. 3:20 If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now?
