God’s wisdom is a treasure worth more than anything else and, in the middle of the real conflicts, troubles and temptations that come into all of our lives, we cannot afford to forget the “identifying marks” of His wisdom. If these are present, it definitely is not your wisdom! Identifying Marks of God’s Wisdom (James 3:17)
James 1:5 “But if any of you LACKS wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously (bigheartedly, openhandedly, liberally) and without reproach (blame, criticism, reprimand, scolding), and it will be given to him.” We need to “wise up” and “look up”. No excuses now…this wisdom from above is free and just for the asking. Hey, I’m smart enough at least to know that – are you? Thank you, Jesus! (Listen to entire sermon below.) We continue with James 4. It is a fascinating chapter in which we are admonished as to what to avoid and then encouraged as to what to practice. It all comes down to our free will and the choices we make. But I would like to encourage you not to be caught up so much with what Christianity is against, but to concentrate much more on what it is for! That way, you’ll be so busy doing the “do’s” that you won’t have time for the “don’ts”! Sin is sin—God will deal with that. You concentrate on what God is for (Galatians 5:22-23):

But it isn’t about jingle bells, reindeer, Santa and elves, decorating homes, greeting cards, gifts, parties, or traveling to be with families. The reason, Jesus’ birth, is found in Luke. (Luke 2:8-14) Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem was an event that transformed the shepherds’ lives who observed it and billions of others throughout time. The world tries to block this event, covering it up with distractions which seem in keeping with the spirit of this day but cover truth with non-truth. It isn’t the celebration of gifts man gives to man, but it is God’s gift to us. Don’t let baby Jesus in a manger just be the subject of a beautiful Christmas card. He lived an amazing life, died for us, ascended to heaven, and will return as King of Kings. He will rule the world judging all. Let Him grow up in your life – know Him. Have the true spirit of Christmas in your heart all year. Merry Christmas, and God bless you every one! (Listen to entire sermon below. And even if Jesus already owns your soul, the spiritual battles still continue in order to confuse you, weaken you and, as God puts it, “rob, kill and destroy” you. Whew, that’s some enemy we are fighting. Satan is a “no holds barred”, evil and brutal enemy who is supernaturally determined to either own or destroy all that God has made…so you cannot take a knife to this gunfight! This spiritual war (that I fear our country is losing) cannot be fought with the weapons of this world but with the heavenly weapons of God that have divine power to demolish all strongholds. Trust God; let Him lead you in every thought, word and deed, for He has been leading this fight since the beginning. Onward Christian soldiers! Remember, it’s one thing to be convinced of the need for the new life, but it is an entirely different thing to acquire the new life! The fruit of the Spirit of God is the key in this whole thing! The fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are not the same…the fruit of the Spirit is what we ARE and the gifts of the Spirit are what we DO. No one can be or do what God desires without the indwelling of the Spirit. Go ahead; ask Him to come inside…your whole life will change! He does not need to perfect perfection! Moses speaks these words from God, “The Rock! His work is perfect, all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness and without injustice, righteous and upright is He.” (Deuteronomy 32:4) The Hebrew word for perfect here means without defect, blameless, without blemish, upright, without spot, whole, complete, sound, and undefiled. God sent His son Jesus into this world as a sacrificial lamb without blemish and spotless, perfect in every way, to redeem man from eternal death brought on by Adam’s disobedience. This redemption of grace was not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with Jesus’ own precious blood. Jesus was perfect as God incarnate, “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power...” (Hebrews 1:3) In Christ alone there is perfect peace for those who put their trust in Him. (I Peter 1:18, 19; Isaiah 26:3; John 14:27) If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? Hebrews 1:1-3 says, “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature and upholds all things by the word of His power…” When Jesus approached Jerusalem for His last Passover feast, He saw the city and wept over it. He wept because His people rejected and did not recognize His visitation and message of eternal life and peace. Because of their hardness of heart, Jesus prophesied that Jerusalem would be leveled and the people destroyed. Almost 40 years later, the Romans fulfilled this prophesy. See Luke 19:41-44. And, in these last days, Jesus continues to knock on the doors of men’s hearts. His visits are convicting, convincing, revealing and piercing into the depths of each man’s soul. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice & opens the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me.” Rev. 3:20 If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? http://www.heartlight.org/ Part 3 of our series on life’s answers takes us on to some pretty important questions we have to ask ourselves. If you aren’t settled on the answers to these questions, then some of the solutions outlined are not going to help you. But I do hope you dive in with both feet and at least think on these things; but I do suggest you do that thinking at the feet of Jesus! The first question is “do you believe that Jesus is God?” I don’t mean Allah, or Buddha, or your ancestors or fire or lightening or the cosmos, etc. If you were believing a lie, wouldn’t you want to know it? So, it is not dueling belief systems I’m talking about here; it is what the truth is. When you know the truth, the truth will set you free. Next, do you love others as Christ loved the church; not when you feel like it or when it is convenient, but as He loved us? Read 1 Corinthians 13 again regarding what God says love entails. Do you overcome the world and its desires? This is a tough one in today’s “anything goes”, “morality is what you say it is” world! Remember, only when God is in your heart can you overcome any sin, any temptation, and any foolish decision that may come your way. Lastly, do you know that eternal life is in Jesus Christ? Eternal…now that’s a long, long time! Have you really thought this one out? If you know those answers, then you are on the road to not only knowing life’s answers, but living them! [Scripture Reference: 1 John Chapters 1-5] If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? Stress-solving Scriptures can be found in 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 and 5:14-21. Here, we are encouraged to lead a quiet life, attend to our own business, work with our hands, do as we are told, behave properly, don’t be in any need, help the weak, be patient with all men, don’t repay evil with evil, pray without ceasing, etc. It is so simple ... we almost could miss it. Just because it is simple doesn’t mean it is easy. But the God of peace will preserve us body, soul and spirit. Ahhhhhhh! Don’t you feel better already?
