© www.sharefaith.com God is not mocked and does not want anyone to perish. He is very patient and is not interested in a perishing people – but wants to save them. Sadly, there will be multitudes that do perish because they lack faith and trust in Christ. There is a powerful adversary out there who has duped people into believing that God does not matter. God is being vetted and moved out of our institutions, judicial systems, and the leadership of our government. We are living in a day full of the hope of the Lord. It is a day of promise. But listen as Pastor Mark shares the real church’s call to wake up – wake up – wake up before it is too late. © http://www.creationswap.com/danielsauseda Trusting is letting go and letting God have control of us. We as a people have the hardest time letting go of the controls of our life decisions. We think that only we know what is best for us, and to trust someone else is not easy. To completely trust our life, job, home, and family to another is far beyond what we feel comfortable doing. “The Lord will guide you always.” (Isaiah 58:11) God’s plan is personal. Every believer has the right to take God’s word as though it was written just for them. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” (Psalm 32:8) This verse speaks of an individual pathway, not just the general way of righteousness set before all Christians. The personal interest God shows in each one of us, as revealed in the Bible, is astonishing. All our thoughts, our ways, and our words are known to Him. In Psalm 139:2-6 it says, “You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.” The Lord not only knows us, but He loves us. Trust in His love. In there you’ll read that God directed Malachi to admonish the people of Israel who had become plagued with corrupt priests, negligence of the tithes and offerings, mixed marriages with pagans and a false sense they were still secure with their relationship to God. Because the promised Messiah had not yet come they were filled with disbelief and doubt which caused them to turn cynical of God and His covenant with them. They started to wonder if it was even worth serving God at all. Ever been there with that thought? Well, if you are totally honest with yourself, you will know whether you have become like those “doubting Israelites”. Will you live a compromised life as they had lowered themselves to, or will you remain a messenger of God? Not just with the message of your mouth, but with the message of how you live your life. Mediocrity is not an option in the cause of Christ! (Gen 22) His every step, heartbeat, and thought along the way was yielded to the living God when he was committed to and endeavored to serve. Fears, doubts and apprehensions must have pressed enormously on his mind and heart. But he was determined to allow God to give him strength and faith to accomplish His command; a faith that gives substance to things hoped for and evidence to things not seen. (Heb 11:1) This faith in him, and from God, was evident when he told the young men traveling with him and Isaac to stay behind and said to them, “Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go yonder, and we will worship and return to you.” (Gen 22:5) Worship and return! How can this be when Isaac was to be offered? Because nothing is impossible with God, and the mind cannot tread where faith can venture. In the end, God spared Isaac and provided a ram for Abraham to sacrifice. Romans 4:3 says that, “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” May followers of Jesus everywhere have such a renewed and fresh stirring to contend earnestly for the faith such as we see here in Abraham. © www.123rf.com Neil Armstrong (the first man to set foot on the moon) said, as he took his first step on the moon, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” As we look back to this monumental accomplishment for the human race, we remember the incredible effort it took to make this happen – the well thought-out plans, engineering and physical labor were astonishing. Man left earth to set foot on a separate heavenly body (the moon) in the summer of 1969. But the greatest leap of all mankind – past, present, future, and for all eternity – actually occurred over 2,000 years ago. In the small town of Bethlehem, Jesus was born. God incarnate stepped down from the heavens. “‘The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ – which means, ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:23) “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) This is what God did for this world because He loves us so much. Today, man needs to take a leap of faith on his journey to salvation and seek out the Face of God through Jesus Christ. © http://www.123rf.com We so often feel that way when grief and struggles assail us. But we must be reminded that when overwhelmed…REMEMBER GOD’S GREATNESS! (Read Psalm 77:7-15 and Exodus 14:1-31) So, don’t get caught up in the details of your circumstances…get caught up in the greatness of God. We so often shake a fist at God because He didn’t stop the devastation or the “extreme circumstance”. But stop and think…if He is in total control, then your extreme circumstance isn’t “extreme” to Him! And, just because things didn’t work according to your plan, it doesn’t mean it wasn’t His plan! In the Scriptures noted, we see that the Israelites panicked when the Egyptian army was roaring down on them. They forgot so quickly what God had just delivered them from in their years of slavery and deprivation. By looking at the details of the situation instead of looking to God first, they were consumed in fear instead of faith. God’s love and plan won out and He rescued them again…just like He will for you. Lesson learned: Don’t get caught up in the details of your circumstances…get caught up in the greatness of God. © http://www.123rf.com Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the assurance (substance) of things hoped for, the conviction (evidence) of things not seen. Faith here means to be bound, to bind together as one. This chapter names multitudes who were faithful unto death without receiving the promises of God in their lifetime. They did, however, welcome them from a distance by faith and confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth (away from their heavenly home). (See Hebrews 11:13) It was from a distance that Abraham looked up and saw Moriah where he was to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac. It was also at this time when we witness compelling evidence of Abraham’s binding faith in God when he told his two servants to stay behind while he and Isaac were to go and worship God and return to them. (See Genesis 22:5) Sometimes, perhaps frequently, you may feel the stress and adversities of everyday life and feel that God is far away, but be reminded that God told Abraham and Sarah, regarding the birth of Isaac, that nothing was too difficult for Him. (Genesis 18:14) Today we have access to God and are brought near to God through Jesus who shed His blood that we may be forgiven and inherit eternal life. Now, we can experience a close, personal and intimate relationship with God through Jesus--no longer from a distance. © Melinda Nagy | Dreamstime.com Over the past 40 years or so there has been an unfortunate trend for the American male to be abdicating his responsibilities as the God-appointed spiritual leader and head of his family. The male’s failure to “man-up” under the strength, enablement and wisdom of God has evolved into a climate of weakness, softness, and feminization of his manhood. Because of his reluctance to lead, the woman has been forced to assume the man’s responsibilities in order to survive. How many households do you personally know of where the father is absent or has failed to lead under God’s authority? All too often this is the case, and the trend continues at an alarming rate. Paul wrote to the believers in Corinth, a city full of immorality and idolatry and said, “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all be done in love.” (I Corinthians 16:13,14) What an appropriate message for our fathers today. Most any man can fertilize an egg, but godly fatherhood is another matter. Men, dads, fathers—“man-up” while there is still time—awaken from your sleep and slumber. (See Romans 13:11-13) Our families are waiting for your response to God’s calling. To all our fathers who have been faithful to God and are currently fulfilling their godly fatherhood responsibilities today, we are grateful. LISTEN TO AUDIO:© Grafvision | Dreamstime.com On May 13, 2012, we celebrated a National holiday called Mother's Day. Today, we'd like to share with you the message Pastor Mark Parsons gave us on that day. He spoke of how a Mother's love many, many years ago affects each and every one of us today and was a part of the fulfillment of God's plan. During the time of Israel’s captivity in Egypt, the Israelites multiplied immensely. The Egyptian Pharaoh said to his people, “Behold, the people of the sons of Israel are more and mightier than we.” (Exodus chapter 1). He feared that the Hebrews would overthrow his rule, and he implemented a plan, an evil one, to destroy the Hebrew males at birth, which failed. The king then ordered his people to cast the male infants into the dangerous and crocodile-infested Nile. With the Pharaoh’s plan in place, he could accomplish a two-fold purpose: first, the babies would sacrificially appease one of their major gods, the Nile, and secondly, Israel’s population would be controlled and managed. However, Moses’ mother, Jochebed, having faith in the Living God, hid Moses for three months not fearing the king’s edict (Hebrews 11:23-24). She then continued to trust God completely to protect and care for her son. She placed Moses into the Nile (the World) in a basket (God’s armor) well-crafted and sealed from the invasive waters and dangers beneath and above. We need mothers today, like Jochebed, who will do whatever is necessary to faithfully enrich and teach their children to walk after and trust God alone through Jesus Christ. We need mothers who will declare to the World (the Nile), “You can’t have my children, not on my watch. They have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise...” (Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30) Audio: (Click forward button below to play audio of sermon and/or download file.)
