Our church ministry is moving onward and upward in a new expanded direction after 44 years of service to our God in this Community and beyond.
The News
We will be selling the brick-and-mortar church building and property at 9414 North Rome Circle, but NOT dissolving or terminating Great Hope Christian Fellowship, Inc (a 501 (c) (3) organization). Once you recover from the impact of what you just heard, let us go on to explore the greatness of our God as He takes us on a path leading to greater manifestations of His glory.
Let's Be Clear
- The ministry goes on! The will of God be done!
- Jesus is calling, calling, calling.
- Who will respond to the call? How will you respond to the call?
You see, the ministry goes on, for almost all of our ministry occurs outside the walls of our building.
Many Servants
After nearly 44 years of faithful service to our eternal Father, Jesus, our Lord, and Holy Spirit, Mark Parsons (Senior pastor and corporate director), Dr. Linda Pugsley (Assoc pastor and Director of Piercing the Darkness Ministry and corporate secretary), and Dr. Shirley Parsons (Education Director, Worship Leader and corporate treasurer) will continue their devoted and faithful service under the GHCF corporate ministry. Evangelist Drew Farkas and Worship leader/prophet, Lisa Farkas will continue as well. Teresa Boyd and Pastor Ramon Abreu will continue their ministry in La Ceiba, Honduras. Ted and Carolyn Marshall will continue the international Veteran’s Radio Ministry. All these and more will be ministering as God leads and directs them, whether it be in home, online, outreach, counseling, leading prayer groups and always teaching, guiding and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ as Holy Spirit directs. We are the body of Christ and the ministry goes on!
We are and have always been ministers outside the walls of what is commonly known as a church building where people have felt closer to God when they attend a service. Our aim has been and continues be— to disciple and equip the saints and send them out.
Purpose With Power
From the book of Ephesians, we draw inspiration to equip the saints for the work of service, to build up the body of Christ. Each one is encouraged to allow Holy Spirit to help and guide them in their call. Our very mission statement guides this teaching— To love, worship and serve God alone; to know and obey God and His Word; to advance His directives to the body of Christ and our community, and to teach these precepts to others. This is truly a purpose with power.
The Nuts and Bolts
Great Hope Christian Fellowship goes on, for nearly all of the ministry occurs outside the walls of a brick-and-mortar building. This is intentional and God’s hand has always been intentional for our ministry. As you know, there are expenses to operating any ministry and we praise God, as He is our provider!
We appreciate every supporter and we know we have a responsibility to use every support dollar wisely Yet it is not our wisdom but that of the Spirit of Wisdom & Holy Spirit, who has awakened us and alerted us to some facts. In searching, we have discovered that it requires more than $11,000 per year for just basic maintenance of our small facility, which is out of proportion to ministry operation. This of course does not include those “extra” or unexpected times when we are told you have to replace this or that at great expense (like an air conditioner or new roof). This all represents your hard earned and freely given money which will no longer go towards a building and the grounds but rather directly toward other ministry endeavors.
God is giving us greater liberty by not having a building to look after and tend to. But be assured that Great Hope Christian Fellowship remains as always to support you and, with prayer and encouragement, to teach and launch any ministry that God lays on your heart.
We expect that support to become more focused, perhaps more formalized but always from the Spirit of God. In time our website (www.myghcf.com) will be upgraded and improved for your use. For example, Pastor Linda plans to develop her own website and REV It Up Ministry, to include speaking engagements, podcasts and other extended teaching venues.
Funds from the sale of the property will be redirected into other funds of the corporation as determined by the officers.
What About The Roof?
Before God revealed to us this new direction, this new path, we were set, poised, and ready to install a new $15,000 roof on the building. The Lord's hand came and He said “No, just wait.” By faith in Him, we waited. As a matter of fact, the installation was already scheduled and was one day from starting. We now know why we were to wait!
If you are a supporter who gave to the roof fund over the last two years, we understand that some may desire a refund since the roof project is now halted. Most likely the building will be demolished. (The useable building contents will be destined for continued ministry use.) Please contact us with your request. We will be happy to refund your donation in full. Otherwise, your “roof donation” will be dispersed into another fund.
A New Day
It is a new day for all of those who put their trust in God alone and hunger and thirst for His life and light to manifest. We will manifest the fruit of The Holy Spirit without wavering and bring the Kingdom of God to earth as it is in heaven.
We pray you will continue to support GHCF with your prayers and financial support as we move forward with hope (that happy expectation of good). As of now, we do not know the timeline and so remain flexible with joy.
The torch of the Gospel message will continue to go forth assisted by your faithful support of our Lord’s mission to seek and find the lost and disciple His children to walk in obedience to his teachings.
Victorious Mission
This decision to sell the property has not been taken lightly and has been received through much prayer and consideration of His plans to move forward—Jesus going before us in a victorious mission to serve our God and King.
Your Questions
We are sure you have many questions. With time, we hope to expand your understanding and get all your questions answered. In the meantime, and always, let us remember as Teresa of Avila loved to say, “All is well and all shall be well.”
A Final Praise
We continue to honor and praise our Lord and God for the many wonderful works He unfolds among us. We are sons and daughters of the Living God and we will worship Him forever, for this is the will of God!
In the mighty name and authority of Jesus our Lord, and in His love, we remain,
Great Hope Christian Fellowship, www.myghcf.com
