![]() Hustle-bustle—all around us is noise—loud noise, soft noise, but ever-present noise! Yet God talks to us in a “still, small voice”. Ever wonder why that is mentioned? In today’s world, trying to hear from God seems almost impossible. Cars, machines, 24-hour news, computers, Facebook, cell phones, movies-on-demand, iPods, iPads…I give up! We have to work hard at pulling away for some quiet time with the Lord, but it is essential for your inner peace and spiritual growth. So many distractions today make the choice of silence and solitude extremely difficult! The overstimulation in our daily grind crowds out the senses, and we continue to live in sensory overdrive—or maybe even overwhelm! Slow it down, compadre—spend time alone with Jesus and learn to discern the unseen in a very “seen and heard” world. 2 Corinthians 4:18, So if we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” Endure the fire—it’s producing pure gold!
