![]() In the book Jesus on Trial, we learn of a very important detail that we should be speaking of more – Christ is the only one who divided history. He had to have made a supernatural impact on the world for that to be true. Distinguishing from all others is that once He appeared Jesus struck history with such impact that He split it, dividing it into two periods: one before His coming, the other after it. NO ONE ELSE DID THIS! Even those who deny Jesus Christ is who He says He is are forced to date their attacks upon Him as B.C. and A.D. On the week before His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ came riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. For the early followers of Jesus, this was a week that began with tremendous excitement and expectation and by the end of it the world was forever changed. The old adage of no one on their deathbed ever said “I wish I spent more time at work” is so true. So what are you waiting for? What are you thinking on? What are your priorities? Ecclesiastes shows the futile emptiness of trying to be happy and fulfilled apart from God. Power, popularity, prestige and pleasure apart from God are hollow victories! Ecclesiastes 1:1-3 “The words of the Preacher, the son of David, King in Jerusalem. Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, all is vanity. What advantages does a man have in all his work, which he does under the sun?" Ecclesiastes 1:14 “I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind.” Ecclesiastes 2:4-11 – read all of this one! Ecclesiastes 2:13, 20, 22 (13) “And I saw that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness” (20) “Therefore, I completely despaired of all the fruit of my labor for which I had labored under the sun.” (22) “For what does a man get in all his labors under the sun?” Conclusion: Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 - Read this Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 – and this one too! SO…
There is an emptiness of life without God, but with Him, you can know sweetness with bitterness, strength with weakness and wisdom with foolishness.
