What does your life look like? What or who do you imitate? If you looked in a mirror, would you see Jesus?
Atheist Friedrich Metzsche was asked what made him so negative toward Christians. He said, “I would believe in their salvation if they looked a little more like people who had been saved.”
Yet others think the attainment of holiness comes by walling themselves off from all evil. But of that lifestyle it has been said, “The virtuous soul that is alone…is like the burning coal that is alone. It will grow colder rather than hotter.” So, you’re not good walling yourself off either.
So what do you do…what do you look like?
Jesus tells us to be strong, courageous, to stand on His principles; to be bold, holy, clean, not provoke your children to anger, be patient, kind, long suffering, etc. Do you meet the measure?
God is not asking for your human perfection…your human side can never be perfect! Only the God nature in you, coming out unhindered, can show perfection…in all aspects of your life.
You see, the only way to live is to die to self and let the Spirit of God flow out freely. But the Spirit of God cannot come out if you have not let Him IN. Go humbly to God; tell Him you believe Jesus is your rescue and salvation. Ask Him to forgive you of all of your wrongdoing and invite Him inside to be not only your Savior but your Lord.
When you let His light shine…go look in that mirror…you’ll see Jesus!
