© www.sharefaith.com You can’t feel good until you are good and you can’t be good without help, and that kind of help can only come from God. Remember, FEELINGS almost always end up in FUSSING, and fussing always ends up in SIN. Don’t fuss about something but rest in God. Work on your relationship with God FIRST, not on your relationship with others. You can’t do anything about anyone else—you can only develop YOUR relationship with God. In doing that, you raise your mind up to faith, your will up to hope and your feelings up to love. Only then can we think like Him (1 Corinthians 2:16)…want like Him (Psalm 40:8) and feel like Him (John 13:14). Read Psalm 139 as frosting on the cake! © www.sharefaith.com John 20:29, “Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’” We tend to look for the physical evidence to prove or disprove a story or to confirm the truth. With today’s technology, we seem to think that the truth will be viewed by scientific process; and the human element of deductive reasoning is now a relic of bygone days. The world does not understand what it cannot see - fingerprint, retinal scan, photograph, video or DNA test. You cannot gene map the soul and spirit of the believer in Christ. You see, the evidence is hidden from the nonbeliever. It is only revealed in truth by grace from God to the eyes and heart of the “nonseeing” – “those who have not seen and yet have believed”. Take the step to believe. Open your mind to God’s sight for you. Let Him reveal the truth of His love and, by grace of God, save yourself from the darkness. He is the light! Let God bless your life and open your heart and mind to His gift of eternal life. How secure it feels when your wallet and your belly are full and no one is accosting you. Oh, but how quick we are to turn on God and shake a fist at Him when our idyllic setting takes a turn for the worse. We aren’t unique in responding this way either…the Old Testament has many accounts of God’s chosen people intensely trusting Him when He was doing outright miracles for them. But it always was only temporary…then the grumbling, complaining and distrust flowed back in them like a river. Are you like that? We don’t have to be. Stay immersed in God’s presence and instead of asking where He was ask yourself…where are YOU when things hurt. Are you right there with God or did you run away on the road of anger and bitterness? Read Psalm 3 when you get a chance…it’ll help. He is very patient and is not interested in a perishing people – but wants to save them. Sadly, there will be multitudes that do perish because they lack faith and trust in Christ. There is a powerful adversary out there who has duped people into believing that God does not matter. God is being vetted and moved out of our institutions, judicial systems, and the leadership of our government. We are living in a day full of the hope of the Lord. It is a day of promise. But listen as Pastor Mark shares the real church’s call to wake up – wake up – wake up before it is too late. Through his many times of afflictions and trials, he always managed to turn to God for deliverance and help in time of need. At this time in his life, he may have been pursued by Saul who was out to take his life, and He was experiencing terror on every side of his life (vs. 13). We too, as faithful followers of God through Jesus His Son, have and will experience tribulations of every kind. However, regardless of what each moment of time may bring into our lives, we need to unconditionally surrender ourselves into the mighty providential hands of God. David so profoundly said (vs. 15), “My times are in thy hands; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.” Can you truly say today with a greater confidence, hope and conviction than ever before that your times are in the hands of the Living God? All four of those gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) are a bit different in their accounts of the life and works of Jesus. Perhaps that is because any one of the gospels alone would not do justice to Jesus’ life and ministry. But, together, we have a much more complete picture of who Jesus is and what He did while here on earth. In looking over the gospels, one cannot help but realizing the uniqueness of Jesus. But I hope you don’t consider Him faraway and unaware of the human condition. He was just as much human as divine! Let us enjoy this uniqueness of Jesus and a life in Him. Listen in on the sermon as we review this humanity and divinity…and what it means for us.
© www.sharefaith.com The song “Who Let the Dogs Out?” reminds me of the chaos that started immediately upon Adam’s sin. Genesis 6:5 tells us that man was wicked and continually evil so God sent a flood to cleanse the earth of all that pollution. Big sin = big flood = big change…right? Wrong! The Bible chronicles mankind’s track record of continuing to disobey God. The discipline given by Him is to reprimand and stop the disobedience but that gets lost in the wash of man’s pride and malevolence. God’s wondrous love, though, is not thwarted by man’s foolishness and even though revolt is in the air, God still provides a rescue for His beloved children. What a God we serve. Remember, in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 it tells us that in everything give thanks. There is a reason for that…a thankful mindset keeps you in touch with God. And when it is all falling apart, that is right where you want to be. In His presence, there’s no room for grumbling and being angry with Him. Practicing a state of thankfulness will safeguard you against the sins of complaints, dissatisfaction, etc. Instead of some scary monster in your closet, you can see things clearly and will be aware of your many blessings. You’ll still have the challenges and sorrows…but how you view them and how you get through them is totally changed…and for the better. Listen in to the sermon and learn how.
