God most certainly has heavenly visions and revelations for all His children. The Lord spoke to Jeremiah while he was still in confinement and said, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” God has a vision of what could be if His will and His purpose for our lives were fully carried out. We must ask, seek, and knock on heaven’s door and beseech God to reveal unto us great and mighty things which we otherwise would never know. Someone said, “If your vision does not require a miracle that will bring glory to God, then God will reduce your resources so He can get the glory.” Our Father longs to do a new thing in our lives and He says, “Now it will spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Jesus has come to reveal unto us the things of God and the heart of God. He has come to deliver us out of darkness for He is the Light of Life. The vision of God is for us to walk in Spirit and truth in order to fulfill His purposes. Jesus said the Spirit of Truth will glorify Him, “For He will take of mine, and shall disclose (reveal) it to you.” Question: Are you being obedient to God’s heavenly vision for you? The prophet Habakkuk was greatly troubled as he addressed the wickedness and disobedience of Judah. “How long, O Lord, will I call for help, and you will not hear? I cry out to thee 'violence!' Yet thou dost not save.” Although he was disturbed, he remained faithful to God and in his distress he said, “I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; and will keep watch to see what he will speak to me, and how I may reply when I am reproved.” God responded and instructed Habakkuk to write and record the heavenly vision on tablets so that all who pass by could read it in order to compare the vision with the actual future events of Judah’s and Babylon’s punishment. God told the prophet, “Though it tarries, wait for it. For it will certainly come, it will not fail.” Similarly, God’s people today are to be diligently watching to see and hear what God will reveal to them through Jesus Christ. They are also reminded to write His commandments and truths on their hearts, and wait faithfully upon God knowing that His word and His plans will all be fulfilled at the appointed time—for the just shall live by his faith. It is becoming more apparent every day that Christians and their godly values have been given the “cold shoulder” by many leaders in Washington. The truth that our great nation was founded on biblical principles by God-fearing men and women, is being shunned, scorned, and marginalized by those with an anti-Christ agenda and Spirit. Recently, Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk Action, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Concerned Women for America, and the Tea Party have been targeted and attacked by the I.R.S. Dr. Dobson writes, “Are you aware that religious liberties cherished by millions of Americans, are being attacked viciously and relentlessly, by various departments of the federal government? These agencies are being led by appointees of President Obama, who gives them their marching orders. His policies are intended to implement what he refers to as the “transformation” of America. This is his word for it. We call it “unconstitutional.” Our nation is on a collision course with disaster without the rule of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. There is hope for revival but only in repentance and dependence on God. The church at Laodicea was in serious trouble for their lukewarmness and indifference to God’s ways. However, Jesus reached out to them (and America today) and said, “Behold I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20) (Message originally recorded: 6/9/13) If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now? God’s children are His workmanship, His creation in Christ Jesus to bring forth good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Yes, God turns the heat up on His children when necessary to purge and purify them from the dross, sin, and worldly ways ever present seeking to bring them down. God will test His people, not tempt them, to see and discern what is in their heart. We read in Proverbs that, “The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests hearts.” God alone can examine and see the most intimate and hidden parts of a man’s heart. He will also set in motion what is necessary to free His children from their infirmities. In fact, David prays for God to examine him, try him and test his mind and heart. Examine here means to test the genuineness of something. God’s refining fire and discipline will come to all His children because of His great love. The writer of Hebrews says “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faith when you are reproved by Him. For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives.” Welcome and pray for the refining fire and discipline of God to do a marvelous and transforming work in your life today! Peter asked the Lord how many times he should forgive someone who sinned against him. The Jewish law of that era required forgiveness for three times, so Peter thought he was being generous when he asked if it should be seven. And what did Jesus say…seventy times seven! That doesn’t mean to keep track, folks. That was just an example of hyperbole, meaning it was an exaggerated amount to get the point across. In doing the math, that would be 490 times…but that is for each offense. So, if offended ten times in a day, that’s 4,900 times to forgive someone in one day! You get the point. Jesus was saying to always forgive. And He qualified it saying to forgive others as you have been forgiven by Him. The deal is this: confess, repent, and return the favor to others. There are four stages in this forgiveness business, and we will cover them today. (Matthew 18:21-22, Matthew 6:12) If you have never put your complete faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, why not believe what God's word says and call on Jesus Christ to save you right now?
