I am still recuperating from the dog bite I sustained a month ago, so I have a jumbled schedule lately. Hourly hand exercises and daily visits to the hand therapist are what fill my day.
As I muse in between “torture” sessions, I have been struck by a theme that keeps repeating in my heart… “I am forgiven”. I guess it’s because the severe pain in the palm of my hand and in my fingers reminds me of what Jesus went through as those nails pierced Him…His pain, of course, on a much larger scale!
When Jesus was physically present on the earth, and went about telling people they were forgiven of their sins, He was soundly chastised…
Mark 2:7: “who can forgive sins but God alone?”
God has forgiven us of our sins…I keep having that echo in my head! I am meditating on it…I know it, I’ve known it for years yet it is striking me as never before…even to the point of weeping!
Luke 7:36-50 –Read it and weep also.
God has cancelled your sin (Colossians 3:13-14)…can we really understand that?
Well, He said it and He can’t lie.
Psalm 86:5: “For You are good and ready to forgive.”
Nehemiah 9:17: God forgives, even when we rebel!
He just wants us to confess our sins (1 John 1:9) and then turn around and forgive others as He has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:30-32).
If I am forgiven…you surely are!
